Food & Travel

You lookin' at me?

I have been a bit removed from my blogging gig. I apologize. But I do have a good excuse…I was traveling!! I was in Baltimore for a few days…

I was at a music conference. When I wasn’t attending sessions with other music geeks (I mean this lovingly of course!) I sought out delicious food. And when one is in Baltimore one must eat crab. (Disclaimer to my VA friends: I realize crab is out of season. But I live in a flipping landlocked state. Can we still be friends?) So I ate crab…and I must give a HUGE shout out to Kate, her dear husband Dan, her uber cool cousin Emily, boyfriend Rob, cute dogs and another super cool woman (who had traveled more miles in one week than I have traveled all month) for opening up their home, hearts and providing such a delicious feast!

I didn’t eat crab the whole time. There was a lunch stop at California Tortilla where I had a fantastic burrito with lots o’ yummy fixings.

Oh, hello...I think I need to open up this restaurant in my town!

And in the morning I got my java fix at Caribou Coffee. Yes, Baltimore was fun for 48 hours!

Then it was time to fly Southwest home (note: thankful my plane was in one piece!) to NH. I wasn’t done yet however. Oh no. Martin Sexton was playing in Northampton, MA. So after stopping at home long enough to unpack my bags I headed out the door and was bound for MA with my friend Cindy. We started off our evening with dinner. So we decided to get our sushi groove on.

Oh.so.tasty!

And you can’t (well…you can..but maybe shouldn’t) have sushi without some sake!

Lychee flavored sake = my new favorite!

We headed to the concert and it was a great show. Oh.Martin. You really rock my socks! Note: I still have not bought a t-shirt. He is playing this coming weekend in Burlington however….hmmm…..

Sunday morning came ’round and who decided to pay a visit? My totally cool (and recently walking!) nephew, my bro and sis in law. We gathered at my Mom’s. My Mom sure does know how to have a fun Sunday. We maybe had some special drinks with orange juice. And then the fun and laughs continued throughout the day.

We had a contest

Catching up on new music trends, techniques, tips and hanging with friends is a lot of fun. Being able to eat fun food and travel is so cool. In fact I would love to do more of these things. But there really is no better feeling than coming home again. And to share some laughs with your nephew…well that is just priceless! Have a fantastic week! Thanks for reading!
