I bet you read that title and are expecting a great cocktail recipe to ring in 2013. I do not have a new cocktail recipe for you just yet. What I do have is a new banana bread recipe that will have you slip sliding on discarded banana peels. (I have an image in my head of Curious George flying across floor) This bread is a classic banana bread recipe with a few special twists.
See that in the background…that glowing amber goodness? Yes, my friends, a little dash of bourbon was added to this bread. Alongside that were some dark chocolate chips and pecans. I shared this gorgeous bread, along with a side of mimosas, at my recent hair appointment. What do I have to say about that? I say it was a well played move on my part! It felt decadent to sip on mimosas as I was getting de-sparkled. It was a time to relax and to be taken care of. It is time to move ‘take care of thyself’ up on my list of priorities in the coming year ahead.
