How can three ingredients turn into something so delightfully beautiful?
Homemade coconut body butter is so easy to make! I have found this lotion to be very hydrating and light on my skin. It almost makes me forget that winter is just outside the front door!
Homemade Coconut Body Butter:
1 cup coconut oil
2 teaspoons Vitamin E oil, liquid form
1 teaspoon fragrance oil, optional (I used rosemary eucalyptus oil)
In the bowl of a stand mixer place the coconut oil (in the hardened form), vitamin E and fragrance oil, if using, and attach the whisk. Turn the mixer on a medium/high speed and let it mix for 6-8 minutes, until smooth and creamy. Store in a jar with a tight fitting lid.
Note: My research into this recipe says you can make coconut butter by whisking it up by itself. But, I have found that adding a few drops of vitamin E and a little scent adds a bit more softness – and light fragrance!
