This is a post full of past and present happenings. Up above rosemary met up with lemon zest, garlic, salt and pepper and had a brawl with olive oil. It ended with a pork tenderloin becoming involved.
An apple and fennel were tossed around with some crushed cardamom, freshly grated cinnamon and some olive oil. I will be putting this spice combination on everything roasted now. Such luck!
Winter vegetables were roasted in plain olive oil – Rutabaga, parsnips, carrots and garlic. An onion relish was created. The winter vegetables were pureed with olive oil, dried sage, fresh dill, oil and salt and pepper. A tiny bit of sour cream was folded in the end. Wonton wrappers helped me make ‘ravioli’.
I schemed more ideas on other flavors as holiday baking scenes swirled around my head. Soon I found myself back in the kitchen baking cookies.
I could tell you that these flourless chewy chocolate cookies were amazing and perfect. I wanted a little brownie cookie – and this super chewy cookie was not that. It was a super chewy, cocoa-fied to the max and sickeningly confectioner sugar-y sweet. For a moment, I will quit while I am ahead. Thanks for reading!
