The Everyday: Lost Weeks

Zesty Rosemary Rub

This is a post full of past and present happenings. Up above rosemary met up with lemon zest, garlic, salt and pepper and had a brawl with olive oil. It ended with a pork tenderloin becoming involved.

The Everyday: Week 45 – Reach for It!

I spent A LOT of time this week trying to figure blog-type things out. I want to update and properly catalog my recipes and create a visual index. Imagine one page where you can see, in lovely neat categories, a picture. You click on a picture and it magically directs you to the post where it originated. Oh, the dream! I reached out, had some very helpful suggestions, and was determined to have a visual recipe index up and running. My html brain was a no-show to this party. It was frustrating but I will keep working at it! In the meantime, keep those suggestions coming!

Beyond that a lot of time was spent in the kitchen.

Creating.

Butter, an egg and bourbon? Have I got a festive cookie recipe coming for you!!

Seeding a Pomegranate

I bought a pomegranate recently. I learned to how to get the seeds out without crushing all of the fruit.

Pomegranate Simple Syrup

But the crushed seeds were turned into a simple syrup.

Pomegranate & Prosecco

Work in Progress.

Carrot Coconut Ginger Soup

My Facebook page was updated this week. This picture did not make the cut. If you like this blog, come on over and be sure to keep up to date on all things happening on Not Quite Gourmet in Facebookland! Does calling Facebook, Facebookland make it more attractive?

I updated my ‘About this Blog & Contact‘, too! It made my head and heart happy.

That concludes my everyday for this week! Thank you for reading, thank you for supporting me and stay tuned for more delicious things coming at you! Have a great weekend!!

Catching Up: The Everydays

Lets catch up! I have taken an unexpected pause. Remember that time my finger got caught underneath a piece of firewood? Well that one little thing has really caused some issues two weeks later. Has anyone had this happen to them? Lets chat!

Disinterest in toy mouse. Interest in watching the paper shredder.

Man. Fire.

See you next year, fall.

I adore these flowers. I really like this chutney creation as well.

Whoa…deliciousness in a glass thanks to this Berkshire Brewing Company Scotch Ale! Find this if you can!

There I go, finding that beauty again!

Thanks for reading friends and have a great week!

The Everyday: Week 42

The Everyday: Week 42

Yes, we are nearly ready for winter. The wood is stacked, the fireplace has been tested and hot toddy recipes have been tested.

Did I tell you about the time I made a streamlined version of chicken cacciatore? No? This will last you the entire week if you are into  those sorts of recipes.

A beautiful work of art arrived on my doorstep recently. I immediately got to work. I grabbed a bunch of fridge things (thats right – you can see cannellini beans, cilantro and celery leaves). What can I say, except I was excited?!

It is official. Everything is official. Renaissance?

I looked to the clouds for inspiration.

I have been on a roasting kick…apples and cranberries? I will fill you in on this gem soon!

Maybe this is a better use of the food processor? Yes.

Adios, brilliant red leaves. See you next fall!

Making crispbread in the form of states? Yes.

Thanks for reading!!!

The Everyday: Week 41

EW41

Here we are on The Everyday: Week 41 train!

Saturday morning starts off on the right foot..hot coffee, hot waffle and Central Park? Yes, please!

Small’s jazz club on a Friday night? For the win!

This homemade pasta dough? Not for the win…and I will tell you all about it this week.

…but, baking bread? This is getting easier!

All of this carb action…needs some balance. How about a juice? I cannot wait to use my juicer more! SO good!

Walking across the Brooklyn Bridge. Miles of walking = miles of happiness. What a beautiful city!

Dinner sans husband. Roasted veggies, apples and greens with a shot of balsamic glaze on a tortilla? Suits me just fine.

If only I had some of these spices from Chelsea Market…if only…

Home again, home again.

Thanks for reading! I hope you had a lovely week!
